Dear Photograph,

The ponies met at the fence for the very first time 2 years ago. One was old and the other young.  The old, gray, huggable, and kind gentleman died this summer in his 25th year. After he was gone, we were pleased to find a bird nest which held some of his white hair.  It was a comfort to know his fur had been woven into a home for the baby wrens while they waited for their wing feathers to grow and learned to fly.
